I received so much encouragement on facebook and over email when I posted about starting a personal project celebrating women and their stories. So many women asked to hear more about the project, and quite a few sent the information to the women in their lives that they thought would be wonderful women to celebrate. I am so excited that women are interested, because I am asking a lot from those participating - multiple questionnaires that take time to answer, full of questions that dig deeper into telling their stories, and finally,  I will photograph them and share their stories here on my blog.

So far, I have eight women on the “definitely participating” list.  I am planning to start sharing their stories in April.  Each month, I will be sharing one woman’s stories and images. So far, I have enough to get through November!  I can't believe I only need one more woman to fill my entire rest of 2016. I am looking for more women to participate. I am hoping to continue the project into 2017 with a whole new group of women.

If you are or know someone who might like to participate, please contact me by leaving a comment below or sending me an email at I am really looking forward to start sharing these amazing stories!

Personal Project Started

A few days ago, I posted on my Facebook page that I was going to start a personal project about women reaching age milestones in their life.  My plan is to interview and photograph them.  This project is being started because I've had a lot of transitions in my own life that have shaped who I am today.  I believe we all have stories to tell, and so much to learn from listening to others’ stories.  One of my passions is helping other women see how beautiful and strong they are, even when they don’t know it or see it themselves.  My goal of this project is to get more stories out there for other women to read so they can learn, know they aren’t alone, and grow into even stronger and more beautiful women that we can celebrate!  I believe this can help our younger girls grow into stronger women much more than receiving a trophy for merely participating in something ever can.

I admit that I was a bit nervous to put the project out there, but I stepped out of my comfort zone to ask for help. I've gotten so many wonderful responses to the idea, and I can't wait for it to really get rolling.

I know this project will take time.  I will be interviewing my participants over email and even in person, if possible.  II am asking a lot of these women.  I want them to share their heart, be vulnerable and open, and share their wisdom.  At some point, I will design a photo shoot for them.  Once the shoot is complete, I will be sharing their stories here to begin with. I am planning to create a book of their stories at some point.

I hope that this project will grow into something much bigger than my own personal project.  As of right now, I am still looking for participants of all age ranges.  If you're interested in participating, please contact me.

Let the interviewing begin...
